Underground Workshop Concept Design
Due to expanding operations, Oaky North underground operations considered that there could be benefit to having an underground workshop including refuelling stations to reduce vehicle travel times and increase efficiencies of vehicle movements. Orana Engineering was engaged to provide concept design and estimating assistance for internal project approvals.
Based on detailed communication with our client, Orana Engineering prepared a set of concept general arrangement drawings including an underground general arrangement, electrical services layout, concrete plan and above ground diesel storage tank supply drawing arrangements for client consideration.
Based on these concept design drawings, a project capital estimate along with a project schedule was prepared for Oaky North underground operations to assist with understanding the overall project costs and time frames for completion, such that a business case could be developed and the project could be submitted for approval.
From the concept design phase information prepared by Orana Engineering, Oaky North were able to accurately consider if the underground workshop was feasible, and ensure that appropriate budgets and project planning was completed at the concept design phase to improve confidence in the project prior to execution.
