Fire System Audit

Fire System Audit

BMA Gregory Crinum requested Orana Engineering to perform an audit and inspection of the Crinum underground mine surface fire water system with respect to providing adequate pressure and flow for the Crinum North conveyor system, and in particular the stockpile conveyor.

Orana Engineering completed an on-site inspection and audit against the design drawings including arrangement drawings and P&ID drawings in order to assess the installation.  The information verified during the site visit was then used for compliance assessment in-line with the relevant Australian standards.

Orana Engineering completed an in-depth assessment of the fire water system to the relevant Australian Standards (including AS 1755, AS 2419, AS 2441 and AS 2941), BMA standards and site fire management standards. Additionally, Orana Engineering performed hydraulic modelling of the fire system to validate pressure measurements taken by BMA site personnel in order to recommend modifications to the water boost system arrangement and control philosophy, and to improve fire water pressure in specific locations.

Orana Engineering was able to provide recommendations with respect to the compliance with relevant standards and system hydraulic performance, to assist BMA to improve the existing system capacity.
