Electrical Specifications
To ensure site consistency of electrical design and installation standards, as well as compliance with relevant Australian standards and state legislation, Glencore Oaky Creek Coal’s Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) engaged the services of Orana Engineering for the preparation of new site electrical specifications.
The scope brought together existing site specifications and practices, and where applicable incorporated them into the new specifications. The new specifications prepared included the:
- Electrical Design specification;
- Electrical Installation specification;
- Preferred Electrical Equipment list;
- Site Equipment Number specification; and
- Drawing Management specification.
Orana Engineering’s extensive experience and knowledge of QLD mine sites, and in particular long standing experience on the Oaky Creek Coal site, enabled the specifications to be produced cost effectively, with the specifications being fully inclusive of details specific and relevant to the site.
On an ongoing basis, Orana Engineering maintains these documents for Oaky Creek Coal and ensures that the latest versions are readily available to site personnel via the site OCC document/drawing management system.
